This is a powerful image of a soul that has lost the will to live.  The body language tells us that she has given up.  The use of white space and character placement are purposeful and meant to convey a sense of loneliness and isolation.  Mental health and personal well being are issues that are not always visible or interpreted correctly by others.  It is okay to ask for help.  Could you have helped her?
