The base of each piece is expertly hollowed and filled with molten lead for maximum weight. Please Note – Only a handful of these chess sets are produced each year and there is currently a six month waiting list for the Maple Burl Chess Sets.  Please contact us if you are interested to get your name on the list.  A fifty percent deposit will be required to secure a spot on the waiting list.  Also please be aware that African Blackwood is no longer an option due to CITES restrictions in Canada.  Alternate woods such as Ebony are an option.  We are more than happy to discuss options with you.
