The Pity of War

$1,000.00

Size:15”W x 12”H
This is my first attempt at incorporating color into my Bent Wood Line Art.  In this piece it adds a powerful, dramatic, if not shocking effect, to the image.

The sentiment is trying to bring attention to the senseless and unnecessary death of anonymous people affected by war.  This victim could be a soldier, it could be a civilian – either way this guy is dead, and he did not have to be.  We know nothing about this guy, and never will.  What were his dreams and ambitions?  Did he have family?  Was he pro war?  Was he anti-war?  Maybe he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  All we know is, he is a nameless casualty of war.

Wood is finished and sealed in shellac. Mounted in a picture frame with double conservation mat boards.  Ready to hang.

Certificate of authenticity included.
