Picasso – Woman Kneeling

My second attempt at exploring bending wood.  More complex bends, but ultimately a beautiful, simple and elegant expression of the female form.  I love that this image captures a realistic body type.  It doesn’t pretend to be the perfect female body…it represents an average middle age woman.  This work recreates Picasso’s original work almost exactly, or as close as I could using wood instead of ink.

Wood is finished and sealed in shellac. Mounted in a picture frame with double conservation mat boards.  Ready to hang.
